    The 44th Annual Yellowknife Geoscience Forum will be held Tuesday, November 15 – Thursday, November 17, 2016 and is a joint initiative of the NWT & Nunavut Chamber of Mines and the Government of the Northwest Territories Department of Industry Tourism, and Investment.    Delegates can now register online.   Trade show exhibitors will still need to provide paper registrations and they can do that through conference coordinator Cheryl Wourms at: conference@mininingnorth.com.

    The NAPEG Education Foundation is offering scholarships valued at $2000 to students from the Northwest Territories and Nunavut pursuing education in the fields of engineering or geoscience.  Both scholarships are named in memory of past NAPEG members who were extremely active in the association. The Bob Spence Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005. Bob was a Founding Member of NAPEG, Past President, Past Executive Director, friend of many, and a strong advocate for professionalism and high ethical standards.     NAPEG has recently obtained a new software system to manage registrant records. The implementation of this new database is happening in conjunction with the development of our new and improved Member Directory.     The Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (NAPEG) Education Foundation may award up to two scholarships per year in the amount of seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500.00) each.     This one day introductory workshop will provide participants with information about, and practice with Engineers Canada’s PIEVC Engineering Protocol, a practical tool and process that systematically assesses the risks of current and future climate on public infrastructure. Developed between 2007 and 2012, in partnership with Natural Resources Canada, the Protocol is a structured procedure using standard risk assessment science to assess and fully document the vulnerability of infrastructure to the impacts of current and future climate at a screening level.
