    2024 Scholarships Now Open!  The NAPEGG Education Foundation’s 2024 Scholarships are now open! Post-secondary students from the Northwest Territories and Nunavut enrolled in full-time undergraduate and graduate engineering and geoscience programs at a recognized university are encouraged to apply to the NAPEGG Education Foundation for scholarships. Preference will be given to highly motivated individuals with a strong academic background and demonstrated citizenship and leadership capabilities. Please note that graduate scholarship applicants MUST be NAPEG Members-In-Training. All other NAPEG members/licensees are NOT eligible to apply.  NAPEGG Education Foundation offers:  Up to two $7,500 graduate scholarships  Up to ten $2,000 undergraduate scholarships,…

    Engineering regulators sign agreement to strengthen collaboration and harmonization On May 23, 2024, Canada’s 12 engineering regulators across the country, including the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (NAPEG), gathered to sign a National Statement of Collaboration to further expand their partnership. The signing ceremony took place in Winnipeg as part of Engineers Canada’s 2024 Spring Meetings and Annual Meeting of Members. The National Statement of Collaboration reflects regulators’ renewed commitment to proactively work together to address national and international barriers to mobility for engineers and engineering entities, further advancing public safety and increasing regulatory efficiency.…

  • 2024 Bridge Building Competition

    NAPEG’s annual Bridge Building Competition was hosted on March 2, 2024, which saw 30 student teams submit bridge entries from across Northwest Territories and Nunavut to be tested for strength and design. Student bridges were put under pressure by using the Obliterator 3000, a mounted car jack with a scale apparatus, until the point of failure. Bridges had to weigh less than 600 grams to enter the competition.
