Job Description:

We currently have an opening for a Senior Project Manager/Leader in our Yellowknife office. This long-established office services a diverse client sector including the Government of the Northwest Territories, City of Yellowknife, Indigenous Communities and other Communities throughout the territory. The position includes opportunities to further advance within the company.

You will bring experience engaging directly with clients. You will also bring excellent communication and leadership skills to promote a team environment to improve overall group performance and client service. The successful candidate must be able to: (1) clearly articulate the needs of infrastructure driven projects, (2) instill technical confidence in both clients, regulator stakeholder groups and staff; and (3) possess credible understanding of municipal planning, engineering, capital planning, design and construction.

Duties will include, but will not necessarily be limited to the following:
•    Providing a leadership role in the execution of projects. 
•    Managing and coordinating technical staff and assigning resources to projects.
•    Leading a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake major projects.
•    Ensuring the offices’ financial objectives are achieved through developing a yearly business plan for the area of practice, including identifying and preparing a summary of priority prospects that best reflect revenue potential.
•    Delivering projects on budget and within identified schedules.
•    Taking on a lead role in client relationships, business, and team development. 
•    Reviewing proposals prospects to ensure that the projects are within the Company’s capabilities and that risks are minimized in accordance with our Strategic Plan.
•    Ensuring that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with NAPEG standards, company procedures, and client expectations.
•    Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team as well as other disciplines and offices.
•    Represent the Company locally in public and professional activities in an active manner which further enhances the reputation of the Company.

Job Requirements:

•    Undergraduate Engineering degree from an accredited post-secondary institution.
•    Registered as a Professional Engineer with NAPEG, or eligible for registration.
•    10+ years of progressive experience in Civil Engineering for public and private sector clients.
•    Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage a team and work under pressure.
•    Experience in liaising with clients, contractors, and other consultants
•    Experience in coaching and mentoring staff
•    Proven project management and business development experience.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Valid driver’s license
