The Climate Risk Institute is pleased to announce the next offering of the online PIEVC Protocol Course!

The PIEVC Protocol Course will be offered online from January 20, 2021 to February 17, 2021.The Protocol is a practical tool and process that systematically assesses the risks of extreme weather and future climate on public infrastructure.    

Successful completion of this course will be recognized by the Climate Risk Institute as meeting one of the requirements of the Infrastructure Resilience Professional (IRP) designation. The course may also be taken as continuing professional development.

Description
This online course provides participants with information about, and practice with the PIEVC Protocol, a practical tool and process that supports the systematic assessment of the risks of extreme weather and future climate in relation to public infrastructure. Developed in partnership with Natural Resources Canada, the Protocol is a structured procedure using standard risk assessment processes to assess and fully document the vulnerability of infrastructure to the impacts of current and future climate at a screening level, and related risks.

The Course will be of interest to engineers and other infrastructure professionals who are involved in policy, planning, procurement, pre-design, design, operation, maintenance, management and regulation of infrastructure and who, now and in the future, need to consider the changing climate for these activities.

Start Date: January 20, 2021 for five (5) consecutive Wednesdays

Time: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm EST (please note your time zone)

Course Fee: $625 plus HST (for professional development and recognition as meeting IRP credential requirements); $475 plus HST (for professional development only)
