Transport Canada’s Environmental Policy Directorate and Strategic Policy and Innovation Directorate are pleased to invite you to the fourth webinar in their Transportation: Adapting to a Changing Climate webinar series.  The webinar series was created to explore transportation adaptation issues and initiatives in the aim of building capacity and fostering collaboration within the sector on this issue.

 
The fourth webinar, Adapting Northern Transportation in Canada: Permafrost Challenges, will feature the following speakers:
 

  • Chris Burn, Professor at the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, Carleton University, who will provide a scientific overview of permafrost and its relevance to transportation in Northern Canada;
  • Paul Murchison, Director of Transportation Engineering, Department of Highways and Public Works, Yukon Government, who will discuss initiatives to adapt transportation infrastructure currently underway in the Yukon; and,
  • Paul Adlakha, Executive Director of Business Development, C-CORE, who will present on the viability of using remote sensing technologies as a tool to monitor transportation infrastructure in the North.

The webinar will be held on: Wednesday, June 3rd, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
